Autofocus on the zf is very fast when coupled with a z lens. Plus the wide range is awesome.

 

I think FPS is 10. But, don't take my word for it. 

 

 

Two questions

 

Does it feel rough on the adapter to body side or the lens to adapter side ?

I just tried 3 different Z mount lenses and then the adapter with an F mount lens. The adapter and the Z mount lenses feel about the same going on and off.

All 4 attempts were smooth with a minor increase in tension as the adapter was twisted half way on or halfway off. It almost feels like a spring pusing between the lens and body or adapter and body. Again, this felt the same on all 3 lenses and adapter.

 

If its under warranty, Nikon should exhnage it or replace it for no extra charge. Are you here in the US? Maybe policies are different in other countries. But reeason would dictate  that if you buy something on sale and it doesnt work right, they replace it. Its not a bait and switch to make you buy something then upsell you on a non deffective item.

Sounds fishy.

 

After an extended period of use now, I can say the zf is my goto camera now. I rarely pickup the m11 these days as the zf is such a joy to use.

I had used Nikon F3 in film age, Zf is rather like F3 than FM2, I am fully satisfied now.

I have similar feelings about the ZF. For me it brings back the joy of photography again. My other cameras are M11 and Nikon film cameras. I regret getting rid of my MP which I loved. But now, If I shoot film it's on an F3T and an F6 which for me has the perfect metering of any camera ever made. I have the 50mm 1.8 Z for it and love it. Although, I love shooting my manual focus glass on it as well. With those two film cameras and my ZF I feel young again :) Who needs Centrum when you have film nikon cameras and and a ZF" 😄
